Since Queens dim sum place was closed we've tried to find some equal substitution, but both choices Richmond has now are not great ones.
Absolute garbage. Ordered Sesame Chicken with fried rice. Worst fried rice I've ever tasted. Tastes like it had chemicals in it. Not even eatable. Tried to eat the chicken and that was awful too. Had to throw everything in the trash and went to Yen Cheng. The food in the pictures is not what they serve you. Looks nothing like it.Do you self a favor and do not waste your money here.
3. Restaurant is 50% filled on a busy day/night, so there's plenty of room here.
Service was nice but very slow. And we couldn't help but noticing that Asian looking clientele are seated in separate room then the other looking people. Weird.
FOOD: Chicken legs = B, Beef crepe = C, the only two kinds of steamed dumplings they offered = C, Pineapple bun and sesame balls = B+. We ordered Jasmine tea, received God knows what liquid in the pot with some kind of fishy taste in it.
1. Food is much cheaper than most of the Sichuan restaurants out there. Portions are decently large. Food tastes really well, very authentic.
The best Chinese food I’ve ever had!! Lovely service and always interesting music! :) Recommend the boiled fish in hot chili oil, spicy cucumbers, hot & sour soup, spicy eggplant, & general tso tofu!
This was once a fantastic restaurant. I raved about it to friends, and looked forward to any opportunity to eat there. Fresh food, with original and authentic recipes prepared well. It seems something happened, and I am sorry to say that now the food is downright bad. I've been back a few times now after my first bad experience, thinking "maybe it was just a fluke?" or "maybe the head chef was sick that day," or ... I don't know. I wanted to give Chengdu the benefit of the doubt, since the food was previously so on-point. Unfortunately, the food remains virtually inedible, and I feel a duty to warn anyone reading these reviews to ***consider other alternatives***. I certainly won't go back again. This is the same restaurant only in name, and unfortunately the quality didn't slip just a little, but dramatically. I would love to know where the former chef is working now.
2. Staff is friend and attentive but not bothering you like crazy.
4. Highly recommend this place.
We do not have any wish to come back.
Great Sichuan Restaurant....
First and probably the last visit.
