Great place to drop the boat in and explore the James. Watch your charts closely for depth, though. Pretty good ramp, plenty of parking.
Great for kayaking. There is a dock which is difficult for me with rocks surrounding.u can launch from land though muddy at low tide. 5 star. If better launch ie wooden ramp to water. Boat launch is cement. Lots of pileated woodpeckers.
Very quiet place. Little bit scary tho. I visited raining day and nobody there.
We put our kayaks in at the canoe/kayak dock on the creek, then pulled them out at the boat launch. Having the bathrooms is a plus.
This is always a nice little park to visit. Perfect place to launch a boat into the river or a canoe. It's never too crowded either and very quiet.
